The US reports they have killed “The Poet,” a purported head of Islamic terrorist operations on the Arabian penninsula. Isn’t it obvious that killing people isn’t the best strategy to deal with terrorism? Isn’t killing people what terrorists do? Isn’t killing people exactly the failed strategy employed by the Israelis against the Palestinians? A world leader needs a nore subtle, nuanced approach. Such an approach is not epitomozed by George W. Bush who, when recently challenged regarding U.S. violations of international law, replied “International Law? Well, I better call my lawyer.”
