Light plays brilliantly on every scale. These little moss sprouts are one half centimeter tall at best, most far less. Dew makes them sparkle in the morning light.
This is taken using a consumer digital camera and reversed 50mm Pentax f2.0 prime lens.
Twin drops suspended from the tip of a leaf catch the refracted light from hundreds of other drops which are scattering the rising sun as it crests the horizon.
I like the different focus in the two drops. The right drop is refracting the light in the manner of the bokeh, and the left is close to hard focus. The stretching of the water drop by gravity creates the spark-like effect.
This is a re-release of an old photo of mine. I have done some post-processing on it for noise and color, and I removed a flare artifact I didn’t like. These are things I didn’t know how to do when I took this shot. I am really enjoying the digital darkroom.
